About Ladder
The ladder is a simple wooden block that lets you climb straight up without jumping or stacking blocks under you. Place it on the side of a solid block, then walk into it to start climbing. While you are on a ladder you move slowly, and you can hold Shift to stay in place instead of sliding down.
Ladders are useful for vertical mines, rooftops, and any repeated climb. They can be waterlogged, so they also work in underwater builds, and they can catch you if you fall next to one.
How to get Ladder
You craft ladders from sticks. Arrange seven sticks in an H shape to make three ladders. You may also find them already placed in some villages and strongholds, which can give you a few before you start crafting your own.
