About Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli is a blue mineral used mainly for enchanting. When you enchant gear in an enchanting table, each attempt costs a small amount of lapis lazuli along with experience levels, so it is worth keeping a steady supply.
It also works as blue dye. You can use it to colour wool, beds, terracotta, glass, candles, and other dyeable blocks. Nine lapis lazuli can be packed into a decorative Block of Lapis Lazuli, and the block can be crafted back into nine pieces when you need them.
How to get Lapis Lazuli
You get lapis lazuli by mining lapis lazuli ore or deepslate lapis lazuli ore underground. You need at least a stone pickaxe. Each ore block drops several pieces of lapis lazuli, and a Fortune pickaxe increases the amount.
You can also buy lapis lazuli from cleric villagers, and it sometimes appears in chests in underground structures like mineshafts.
