About Oak Hanging Sign
The Oak Hanging Sign is a wooden sign that hangs down from a chain instead of standing on a post. You can place it on the underside or side of a solid block, and it works well for labelling builds, paths, or storage areas below eye level.
Right-click it to open an editing screen and type a message. Like other signs, you can dye the text and use a glow ink sac to make it glow. Waxing the sign with honeycomb locks the text so nobody can edit it, unless the wax is scraped off with an axe.
How to get Oak Hanging Sign
You get Oak Hanging Signs by crafting them. The recipe uses six stripped oak logs and two chains, and produces six signs. Chains are made from iron nuggets and an iron ingot. In survival, this is the only way to obtain them, so you will need access to iron and a bit of woodcutting first.
