About the Painting

The Painting is a decorative item you hang on walls to add character to a room. When you place it, the game chooses a random design based on the space available, so you can get anything from a small one-block picture to a large multi-block artwork.

Paintings are purely visual. They do not block movement, emit light, or respond to redstone. If you do not like the design that appears, break the painting and place it again to get a different one.

How to get the Painting

You craft a Painting using 8 sticks and 1 wool. Put the wool in the centre of the crafting grid and surround it with sticks. The colour of the wool does not change the result.

Paintings are not found in chests, so crafting is the main way to get one. A placed painting will drop itself when broken, so you can move it around your base easily.
