About Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin Seeds are the starting point for growing pumpkins. Plant them on farmland and the resulting stem will eventually produce a pumpkin on an adjacent dirt or grass block, as long as the farmland stays hydrated.
They have a few other uses. You can feed them to chickens to breed them, and they work for taming parrots. They also compost fairly well if you have extra seeds.
How to get Pumpkin Seeds
The simplest way is to carve a pumpkin with shears, which drops four seeds and gives you a carved pumpkin. You can also craft one pumpkin into four seeds, or break a mature pumpkin stem for a chance at seeds.
You can sometimes find Pumpkin Seeds in loot chests in dungeons and mineshafts.
