About Wheat
Wheat is a basic crop that you grow rather than eat. On its own it is not food, but it is the main ingredient in several everyday recipes: bread, cake, cookies, and hay bales. You can also craft nine wheat into a hay bale for storage or decoration.
Farmers find it especially useful for animals. Holding wheat attracts cows, sheep, and goats. Feeding it to two adults of the same species lets them breed, and it also speeds up the growth of their babies.
How to get Wheat
Wheat is grown, not crafted. Plant wheat seeds on farmland near water and wait for the crop to turn golden, then harvest it. Breaking grass gives you the seeds to start with, and fully grown wheat also drops extra seeds so you can expand your farm. You can sometimes find ready-grown wheat in village farm plots.
