About the Black Candle
The Black Candle is a black-dyed candle that works as a small, switchable light source. You can place up to four candles in one block. Each lit candle adds light level 3, so four together give off a total of 12.
Light it with flint and steel or a fire charge. To put it out, right-click a lit candle or use water. It is mostly decorative, useful for dimmer lighting, paths, and builds where a lantern would be too bright.
How to get the Black Candle
You can only get a Black Candle by crafting it. First craft a plain candle from string and honeycomb, then combine that candle with black dye. Black dye comes from ink sacs dropped by squids or from wither roses. Black candles do not appear in loot chests or villager trades.
