  • Grindstone requires a crafting table to craft.

About the Grindstone

The Grindstone is a work station block with two main jobs: repairing gear and stripping away enchantments. Right-click it to open its interface.

To repair, place two damaged items of the same type in the two slots. The result has their combined durability plus a small bonus, up to full durability. The process costs no experience, but any non-curse enchantments on either item are removed.

You can also place a single enchanted item in either slot to remove its ordinary enchantments. Curse enchantments, like Curse of Vanishing, stay behind. Disenchanting returns a little experience.

How to get the Grindstone

You can craft a Grindstone from two sticks, a stone slab, and two wooden planks. If you do not want to craft one, villages are the other reliable source. Weaponsmith houses generate with a Grindstone, and mining it with a pickaxe lets you carry it home. It is also the job site block that turns an unemployed villager into a weaponsmith.
