About Stone Slab
The Stone Slab is a half-height building block with the same clean grey look as regular stone. It is useful for smooth floors, shallow steps, and builds where full blocks feel too bulky.
You can place it in the bottom or top half of a block space. Two slabs placed in the same space form a full-size double slab. This gives you a lot of control when adding trim, counters, or roof detail.
Slabs are also handy for blocking spawns in some builds, since mobs cannot spawn on single lower slabs.
How to get Stone Slab
You get Stone Slabs by crafting them from regular stone. Put three stone blocks in a horizontal row in a crafting table to make six slabs. If you have a stonecutter, one stone block can be cut into two slabs, which is useful when you only need a few.
Stone itself comes from smelting cobblestone in a furnace. Once placed, you can mine a slab with a pickaxe to pick it back up.
