About Iron Bars
Iron bars are a thin, transparent block used mostly for windows, cages, and mob-proof barriers. They stop players and most mobs from passing through, while still letting light in and keeping a clear view.
Bars connect to each other and to nearby solid blocks, so they form neat continuous runs when placed in a row. Like glass panes, a lone bar sits in the centre of its block space. You can also waterlog iron bars, which makes them useful in underwater builds where you still want a see-through opening.
How to get Iron Bars
You can craft Iron Bars from six iron ingots, arranged in two horizontal rows of three. This gives you 16 bars, so a little iron goes a long way.
They can also be found already placed in some structures, such as strongholds and igloo basements. Break them with any pickaxe to pick them up.
