About Iron Ingot
Iron ingots are one of the most useful materials in Minecraft. You use them to craft armour, tools, weapons, buckets, shears, minecarts, rails, anvils, and many redstone components. They are also the repair material for iron gear and appear in many villager trades.
Iron gear is not as strong or fast as diamond or netherite, but it is easy to get in large amounts once you have a steady mining route or an iron farm.
How to get Iron Ingot
You can get iron ingots in several ways. The most reliable method is smelting raw iron, iron ore, or deepslate iron ore in a furnace or blast furnace. You can also craft one ingot from nine iron nuggets, or turn a block of iron back into nine ingots.
Iron golems drop iron ingots when killed, and zombies rarely drop one as well. You can also find iron ingots in chests in villages, mineshafts, strongholds, dungeons, and other structures. Smelting iron tools or armour gives nuggets, not full ingots.
