About Netherite Ingot
Netherite ingots are the rare material you use to turn diamond gear into netherite gear. On a smithing table, combine a diamond tool, armor piece, or weapon with one ingot and a netherite upgrade template. The resulting item keeps its enchantments and becomes stronger and more durable.
The ingot is also fire-resistant, so it will not burn if you drop it in lava. Nine ingots can be packed into a block of netherite for storage or building.
How to get Netherite Ingot
You can craft a netherite ingot from four netherite scraps and four gold ingots. Smelt ancient debris, found deep in the Nether, to get netherite scrap. Ancient debris is rare and requires a diamond pickaxe.
You can also find netherite ingots as rare loot in bastion remnant treasure chests, but crafting is the usual route.
