About Gold Ingot
Gold ingots are the main form of refined gold in Minecraft. They are mostly a crafting material. You can use them to make powered rails, clocks, golden apples, golden carrots, weighted pressure plates, and a full set of gold tools and armour. Gold tools work quickly but wear out fast, so they are rarely used for serious mining.
Piglins also love gold. You can throw an ingot at a piglin to barter with it, and it will toss back a random item. Gold ingots stack up to 64 per slot.
How to get Gold Ingot
There are a few reliable ways to get gold ingots. Smelt gold ore, deepslate gold ore, nether gold ore, or raw gold in a furnace or blast furnace. You can also craft one ingot from nine gold nuggets, or turn a block of gold back into nine ingots.
Gold ingots also appear in loot chests in many structures, including mineshafts, dungeons, temples, and bastion remnants. A few mobs, like drowned and zombified piglins, occasionally drop gold ingots too.
