  • This is a shaped recipe, meaning the items must be placed in this specific arrangement on the grid.
  • Gold Block requires a crafting table to craft.

About Gold Block

The Gold Block is a solid storage block made from gold ingots. It is mostly used for decoration, for building beacon pyramids, and for compactly storing gold. A full block holds nine ingots, and you can convert it back to ingots in a crafting grid whenever you need them.

Key facts:

  • Works as a beacon base block, just like iron, emerald, diamond, and netherite blocks.
  • Gives off no light and has no special redstone behaviour.
  • Has a high blast resistance, but is not as tough as obsidian or netherite blocks.

How to get Gold Block

You can craft a Gold Block from nine gold ingots in a crafting table. You can also find them already placed in a few structures: ocean monuments have a treasure room with gold blocks, ruined portals sometimes contain them, and bastion remnants often have gold blocks as part of their loot. Mining one requires an iron pickaxe or better.
