About the Note Block
The Note Block is a small musical block that plays a note when you hit it or power it with redstone. Each right-click raises the pitch, so you can tune it to the note you want.
The sound itself depends on the block underneath. Stone gives a drum, wool gives a guitar, planks give a bass, and gold gives a bell, among many others. That lets you build simple instruments, doorbells, or little musical loops with redstone.
How to get the Note Block
You can only get a Note Block by crafting it. Put one redstone dust in the centre of the crafting grid and surround it with eight wooden planks of any type. Note Blocks do not appear in loot chests or villager trades, so crafting is the only route.
