About Slimeball
The Slimeball is a squishy crafting material dropped by slimes. It is not a block on its own, but it shows up in several recipes you will use regularly.
Key facts:
- Craft sticky pistons by combining a piston with a slimeball.
- Make leads with four string and a slimeball.
- Craft magma cream with blaze powder and a slimeball.
- Fill a crafting grid with nine slimeballs to make a slime block.
Slimeballs are also handy for trading with piglins? No, that is not right. Stick to the recipes above.
How to get Slimeball
Slimeballs drop from slimes. Slimes spawn in swamp biomes at night and in slime chunks underground, so hunting them is the main way to collect the item. Large slimes split into smaller ones on death, and the smallest slimes are the ones that actually drop slimeballs. A Looting sword helps you get more per kill.
You can also craft a slime block back into nine slimeballs, which is useful if you have extra blocks. Baby pandas occasionally sneeze out a slimeball too, but that is far too rare to rely on.
