- Stone Pressure Plate can be crafted directly in your inventory or in a crafting table.
About the Stone Pressure Plate
A stone pressure plate sends a redstone signal while a player or mob stands on it, and switches off as soon as they step away. It is a simple way to trigger doors, pistons, lamps, or traps at one spot.
Unlike wooden pressure plates, a stone pressure plate ignores dropped items, arrows, and other small entities. It only responds to living creatures, which makes it less likely to fire accidentally from stray loot on the ground.
When pressed, it gives a strong redstone signal, so it works well as a basic on/off switch for circuits that do not need gradual signal strength.
How to get the Stone Pressure Plate
You can craft one from two stone blocks placed side by side in a crafting grid. Stone is easy to get by smelting cobblestone in a furnace, or by mining it with a Silk Touch pickaxe.
You may also find a stone pressure plate already placed in desert temples, often as part of a TNT trap, so be careful around those.
