About TNT
TNT is a block that explodes when you light it. Once ignited, it flashes for a few seconds before detonating, breaking blocks and damaging mobs and players in the blast. It is a common way to clear space, dig holes, or build traps.
You can light TNT with fire, flint and steel, a flaming arrow, or a redstone signal. Redstone is useful for triggering several blocks at once from a safe distance, whether you use a lever, button, or pressure plate.
Mining unlit TNT drops the block itself, so you can move it safely before deciding where to use it.
How to get TNT
You can craft TNT from five gunpowder and four sand (red sand works too), with gunpowder in the corners and center and sand on the sides. Gunpowder mostly drops from creepers, while sand is easy to collect from beaches and deserts.
You can also find TNT in the trap beneath desert temples. If you want to collect it, break or avoid the pressure plate first.
