- Andesite can be crafted directly in your inventory or in a crafting table.
About Andesite
Andesite is a grey stone block with a slightly speckled texture. It is mainly a building block, sitting between plain stone and other decorative stones for builders who want a softer, cooler tone.
Key facts:
- Mines with any pickaxe. Without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.
- Four andesite can be crafted into four polished andesite.
- A stonecutter can turn andesite into slabs, stairs, walls, or polished andesite.
It works well as a neutral wall, floor, or path material, and pairs nicely with stone bricks and polished stone.
How to get Andesite
Andesite is easy to get in two ways. It generates naturally in blobs underground, usually mixed in with stone, diorite, and granite, so caving or branch mining will turn up plenty. You can also craft it from one diorite and one cobblestone, which gives two andesite. That second option is useful when you need a large amount for a build.
