About the Blast Furnace
The Blast Furnace is a specialised smelting block for metal items. It works like a normal furnace, but smelts ores, raw iron, raw copper, raw gold, and metal armour or tools about twice as fast. You can use any standard furnace fuel, such as coal or charcoal.
Key facts:
- Right-click it to open the smelting interface.
- Smelts metal items at double the normal furnace speed.
- Cannot cook food or smelt non-metal items like glass or clay.
- Requires a pickaxe to break and collect.
How to get the Blast Furnace
You can craft a Blast Furnace using five iron ingots, a regular furnace, and three smooth stone. If you have not made smooth stone before, smelt regular stone in a furnace first.
Blast Furnaces also generate naturally in armorer houses in villages, so exploring a village can save you the crafting materials.
