About the Chiseled Bookshelf

The chiseled bookshelf is a storage block made for books. It holds up to six books in visible slots, and you add or remove them by right-clicking the slot you want. There is no interface to open.

A comparator placed next to it can read it and output a redstone signal between 1 and 6, which makes it useful for hidden doors and secret storage. Hoppers can also move books in and out automatically.

Unlike a normal bookshelf, it does not boost an enchanting table.

How to get the Chiseled Bookshelf

The only way to get a chiseled bookshelf is to craft it. At a crafting table, place three wooden slabs in the top row and six planks in the rows below. Any wood type works. It is not found in chests or sold by villagers.
