About the Redstone Comparator

The Redstone Comparator is a redstone component that reads and compares signal strength, rather than just on and off power. You can use it to build circuits that respond to how full a chest is, which way an item frame is turned, or how strong an incoming signal is.

Key facts:

Carries a signal strength from 0 to 15 without weakening it.
In compare mode, it outputs the rear signal only when that signal is at least as strong as the strongest side signal.
In subtract mode, it outputs the rear signal minus the strongest side signal.
Right-click it to switch between compare and subtract mode.

Place it with the arrow facing the direction the output should travel. The rear is the main input, and the sides are used for comparison or subtraction.
