About Granite Slab
Granite Slab is a half-height version of the pinkish granite block. It is mainly a building block, useful for making smoother floors, shallow steps, window sills, and layered roofs without using full blocks.
Slabs can be placed in either the bottom or top half of a block space. Two slabs of the same type can fill the same grid space to look like a full block. Granite slabs are also waterloggable, so water can sit in the same space without washing the slab away.
How to get Granite Slab
You get Granite Slabs by crafting them or by using a stonecutter. The crafting recipe turns 3 granite blocks into 6 slabs, which is good for larger builds. A stonecutter is more efficient if you only need a few, since 1 granite block becomes 2 slabs.
Granite itself is common underground and can be mined with a wooden pickaxe or better. If you need a lot of slabs, gather raw granite from caves and process it back at your base.
