- Item Frame requires a crafting table to craft.
About Item Frame
An item frame lets you display any item or block on a wall, floor, or ceiling. Place it against the face of a solid block, then use the item on the empty frame to hang it. With an empty hand, interacting with the frame rotates the displayed item in 45-degree steps. This makes item frames useful for labelling chests, showing off gear, and mounting maps.
Key facts:
- Holds one item or block at a time.
- The displayed item can be rotated.
- Works well with maps, which stay readable when mounted.
How to get Item Frame
You can craft an item frame from eight sticks and one piece of leather. Arrange the sticks around the outside of the crafting grid and put the leather in the centre. Breaking a placed item frame drops both the frame and the item inside, so you can move your display without losing anything. If you explore an end ship, you can also grab the natural item frame used to hold its elytra.
