- Lead requires a crafting table to craft.
About Lead
A lead is a leash that lets you move animals and some other mobs around. Hold it and use it on a mob to attach one end. The mob then follows you when you walk. Use the lead on a fence or wall to tie the other end, so the mob stays nearby.
Each lead can hold only one mob at a time, so you will need several if you want to move a whole group. They are handy for keeping farm animals from wandering off.
How to get Lead
Crafting is the most reliable way to get leads. Four string and one slimeball make two leads. String is easy to gather from spiders or cobwebs, while slimeballs come from slimes in swamps and some underground areas.
You can also collect leads from wandering traders, which spawn with two leashed llamas. Defeating the trader can drop those leads.
