About Magma Block
Magma Block is a hot block that damages most entities standing on it. It deals damage over time while you are in contact, so it works well for traps or mob farms, but it makes terrible flooring for your base. It also gives off a faint light level of 3.
Underwater, a magma block creates a downward bubble column that pulls players, mobs, and items toward it. That makes it useful for water elevators, item transport, and bubble-based sorting systems.
Key facts:
- Damages most entities that stand on it.
- Emits light level 3.
- Creates a downward bubble column underwater.
- Requires a pickaxe to mine.
How to get Magma Block
You can find magma blocks naturally in the Nether, especially in basalt deltas and near lava, and in some underwater caves in the Overworld. You can also craft one from four magma cream in a 2x2 grid. Magma cream drops from magma cubes, or you can craft it from blaze powder and a slimeball.
