  • This is a shaped recipe, meaning the items must be placed in this specific arrangement on the grid.
  • Sticky Piston can be crafted directly in your inventory or in a crafting table.

About the Sticky Piston

The Sticky Piston is a redstone block that pushes and pulls the block in front of it. When it receives a redstone pulse, its head extends and shoves the adjacent block forward. When the power cuts out, the head retracts and drags that same block back. A normal piston cannot do this.

That pull behaviour makes it handy for hidden doors, retractable stairs, and moving bridges. It moves blocks, not players or mobs, and a few blocks like obsidian and bedrock cannot be moved.

How to get the Sticky Piston

You get a Sticky Piston by crafting it from one piston and one slimeball. The piston itself is crafted from wooden planks, cobblestone, an iron ingot, and redstone dust. Slimeballs drop from slimes, which spawn in swamps and in certain underground slime chunks. Sticky pistons are not found in chests or sold by villagers.
