About the Stone Pickaxe
The stone pickaxe is your first real upgrade from the wooden pickaxe. It mines stone faster and lasts longer, with 131 uses before it breaks. It can also mine iron ore and lapis lazuli, which a wooden pickaxe cannot. It still cannot handle gold, redstone, diamond, or emerald, so you will need an iron pickaxe or better for those.
How to get the Stone Pickaxe
You can craft a stone pickaxe from three cobblestone and two sticks at a crafting table. Put the cobblestone across the top row, then place one stick in the middle of the middle row and one in the middle of the bottom row. You may sometimes find one in a village toolsmith's chest.
