  • Ender Chest requires a crafting table to craft.

About Ender Chest

The Ender Chest is a personal storage block. It has 27 slots, just like a regular chest, but its contents are linked to you and only you. Every Ender Chest you place opens the same private inventory, shared across your world.

Anything you put inside stays safe even when the chest is broken. That makes it useful for carrying valuables between distant bases or keeping important items secure. Hoppers cannot pull from or push into it, and other players will only see their own contents when they open one.

How to get Ender Chest

You get an Ender Chest by crafting it. Place an eye of ender in the centre and surround it with eight obsidian. The eye itself needs an ender pearl and blaze powder, so you will need to visit the Nether and gather blaze rods first.

Breaking a placed Ender Chest without Silk Touch drops eight obsidian but not the eye of ender. With Silk Touch, it drops itself as a block. Ender Chests are not found in generated structures or sold by villagers, so crafting is the only way to obtain one.
