About Polished Granite Stairs
Polished Granite Stairs are a decorative building block with the same smooth pinkish-grey look as polished granite. They let you build sloped paths, roofs, and entrances that you can walk up without jumping. Like all stairs, they can be placed in straight runs, turned through corners, and flipped upside down.
They are a purely decorative block. They do not emit light or respond to redstone, but they can be waterlogged for underwater builds.
How to get Polished Granite Stairs
You can obtain them only by crafting or stonecutting. At a crafting table, six polished granite blocks arranged in a stair shape produce four stairs. A stonecutter is more efficient if you only need a few, since one polished granite block makes one stair.
Polished granite itself comes from four granite blocks in a crafting grid, or from running granite through a stonecutter. Granite is common underground and in stony mountain areas.
