  • Quartz Block can be crafted directly in your inventory or in a crafting table.

About the Quartz Block

The Quartz Block is a clean, bright building block used mostly for decoration. Its smooth white surface suits modern builds, marble-style floors, and Nether-themed bases. It does not emit light and has no redstone behaviour.

Quartz is a whole family of blocks. From a basic Quartz Block you can make Chiseled Quartz, Quartz Pillars, Smooth Quartz, and Quartz Bricks, either in a crafting grid or with a stonecutter. That makes it easy to match textures and add detail across a build.

How to get the Quartz Block

You get Quartz Blocks by crafting them. Place four pieces of Nether Quartz in a square in the crafting grid, and you get one Quartz Block. The main source of Nether Quartz is nether quartz ore, which you mine in the Nether. Any pickaxe can mine it, and Fortune increases how much quartz each ore drops. The block itself does not generate naturally, so crafting is the only route.
