- Raw Copper can be crafted directly in your inventory or in a crafting table.
About Raw Copper
Raw Copper is the unprocessed form of copper you get directly from mining. It is not much use on its own. Smelt it in a furnace or blast furnace and each piece becomes one copper ingot, which is the form you need for lightning rods, spyglasses, brushes, and copper blocks.
You can also pack nine raw copper into a block of raw copper for compact storage. The block is mostly for storage and decoration.
How to get Raw Copper
Raw Copper is not crafted. You get it by mining copper ore or deepslate copper ore with a stone pickaxe or better. Each ore block drops several pieces, and the Fortune enchantment increases how many you receive. Copper ore generates underground and is especially common in dripstone caves, so you will usually find it while caving.
