- Lightning Rod requires a crafting table to craft.
About the Lightning Rod
The Lightning Rod is a block that pulls nearby lightning strikes to itself during thunderstorms. Place one on a high point to keep lightning from hitting wooden roofs or other flammable builds.
It also has redstone uses. When a bolt hits the rod, it gives off a redstone pulse, so you can use it as a simple storm detector. The rod can be placed on the top, side, or bottom of a block and points outward.
In Java Edition, it redirects lightning within 128 blocks; in Bedrock Edition, the range is 64 blocks.
How to get the Lightning Rod
You craft a Lightning Rod from three copper ingots arranged in a vertical line in the crafting grid. That gives you one rod. You can also find them already placed in trial chambers and mine them with a pickaxe.
